CBD Lotion For Topical Uses

When applied topically, CBD products permeate the skin barrier and are absorbed in a way that allows it to work on a cellular level. Once absorbed by the skin, CBD infused creams interact with various receptors to restore balance to sources or locations of discomfort or tension.

Not only can topical CBD products deliver soothing and pain-relieving effects to the exact area of application to ease localized pain, but topical CBD products also smooth blemishes, hydrate dry skin, and promote anti-aging by stimulating new cell growth.

To further enhance delivery in CBD topicals, our lotions contain nano-emulsified CBD, which has proven to be a superior delivery method. Nano technology allows CBD topicals to be absorbed and bioavailable far more quickly, providing an application with immediate relief.

CBD Oil For Internal Health

Because CBD products work in relationship with the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is responsible for receiving and processing nutritional cannabinoids, it affects all parts of the human body in a positive way. The ECS is a master regulator of all of our internal anatomical systems, and dictates their functionality and how well they’re working — both individually and together.

Studies have shown that a variety of ailments can result when these systems are not balanced and functioning properly. Supplementing with CBD oil may help remedy these issues.

Internal health is the founding fabric of CBD’s relationship to the ECS. As CBD interacts with the ECS, studies have shown that rebalancing a depleted ECS can improve digestion, mood, sleep cycles, circulation, immunity, pain response, discomfort from cancer and cancer treatment, GI tract issues, inflammation, skin health, chronic infections, states of calm, and many other internal functions.

Our Internal Health CBD Oil utilizes CBG, which is a cannabinoid that interacts with the body’s internal systems directly through CB1 and CB2 receptors to inhibit inflammation, bacteria, disease, fungus, cancers, bowel issues, and microbes. Supplementing with CBG may also help remedy other imbalances.

CBD Oil For Focus

CBD oil has been researched for its potential in modulating dopamine levels in the nervous system. Because dopamine is responsible for honing awareness, memory and focus, CBD’s ability to trigger dopamine function means support for both a person’s attention span and a potential improvement in their concentration.

Our Clarity & Focus CBD Oil features CBG, which acts as an agonist for the body’s alpha-2 receptors, all found primarily in the central nervous system. These receptors regulate nervous system activity, heart rate, and blood pressure. Inhibiting them with the help of CBG has been studied for the potential to decrease symptoms associated with attention-deficit disorders such as ADD and ADHD. CBD oil also assists with various mental health issues and has been shown to provide mental health benefits.

CBD Oil For Sleep

Insomnia affects millions. Whether due to external factors, emotional unease, or illness, CBD oil has been shown to help alleviate various sources of sleeplessness.

Specifically, CBD oil has been studied for its potential in easing sleeplessness that stems from anxiety disorder, mental health issues, depression, PTSD, side-effects of medication, physical illness, chronic pain or pain from injury, cancer and cancer treatment, restless leg syndrome, stimulant effects of caffeine, and environmental issues like uncomfortable sleeping arrangements or loud noises.

Researchers have found that CBD products can help reduce pain associated with sleeplessness as an effective alternative to pharmaceutical sleep medications. By working with the ECS to access the pain itself, core-level healing is possible whilst promoting rest — as opposed to simply acting as a sedative without harnessing the cause of pain.

CBD oil has also been studied for influencing sleep patterns by revitalizing the brain receptors that control daily cycles of sleep and wakefulness.

CBD products also regulate the stress hormone known as cortisol, and the reduction of this hormone can promote more frequent and deep REM sleep cycles. This is the reason CBD is additionally beneficial for those with anxious or nervous disorders that affect sleep.

Our Sleep Aid CBD Oil features a blend of isolated CBG & CBN. CBN is a cannabinoid that has shown promising evidence in supporting deep, restful sleep, largely due to its natural and safe sedative effects.

CBD Oil For Pain Relief

Researchers have deduced that acute and chronic pain relief are among the top reasons people choose to supplement with CBD oil. According to studies, CBD oil can reduce both pain and inflammation by preventing the delivery of inflammatory agents like glutamate, which is known to cause damage to the brain. This has helped CBD oil to earn its title as a neuroprotective supplement.

CBD products have also been shown to enhance anandamide signalling. Commonly known as the ‘bliss molecule,’ anandamide is a cannabinoid naturally produced by a healthy body. It is responsible for  helping to regulate pain and is linked with feelings of well-being and happiness. CBD oil has been shown to improve anandamide signalling throughout the body.

CBD oil additionally targets alpha-3 glycine receptors, a process that can potentially suppress inflammation and chronic pain. Because these receptors also affect the way our bodies process pain, when not functioning effectively, pain is prolonged and intensified.

Vanilloid TRPV1 is yet another receptor which CBD syncs with in order to reduce disease-associated pain, inflammation, cancer pain and neuropathic pain. Studies have shown that when working together, TRPV1 supports CBD’s pain relief abilities even further.

How To Take CBD Oil

Lumiere offers a complete product line with both ingestible CBD oil and topical lotion, so that the benefits of CBD products can be experienced in a variety of ways.

When using our CBD oil, we encourage clients to hold the supplement under their tongue for 30 seconds as opposed to swallowing the oil. Because each of our oils contains a unique, complex terpene profile specific to the ailment needing support, the presence of terpenes is pivotal for effective supplementation. As terpenes can mildly irritate the throat in some sensitive users, holding oil under the tongue creates an even distribution and easeful way to administer oil without irritation. Anecdotal evidence also suggests that the bioavailability of ingesting CBD oil may be increased when oil is held for 30 seconds under the tongue.

When using our topical lotions, CBD oil is absorbed through the barrier of the skin. Once permeated, CBD oil interacts with the body’s receptors and works on a cellular level, restoring comfort to areas of the body that generally hold pain, discomfort, or tension. In addition to easing muscle aches, arthritis, pain due to injury, or other inflammatory conditions, a CBD lotion may also help hydrate dry skin, smooth blemishes, and even initiate new cell growth in the skin.

CBD Dosage

CBD oil dosage is an ongoing conversation in the CBD community. There is no precise science in determining the perfect dosage of the right CBD oil for a person.

When it comes to taking CBD oil, it’s commonly believed that CBD oil dosage is based primarily on body weight. Yet this is not entirely true for dosing CBD. When it comes to how much CBD is the perfect dose for a unique individual, determining the right amount is what makes CBD both safe and efficient.

For instance, a 350 lb man might find a 4000 mg product to be too potent, because he is new to CBD, or sensitive in general. And a 100 lb woman may find a 4000 mg product to be a perfect fit, because she’s been using CBD for years, has built a physiological relationship with CBD, and her arthritis pain has increased over the years — as does her need for more support.

As such, finding the perfect dose of CBD oil for you is determined by a combination of a variety of factors. How much CBD oil you take depends on the following:

  • Your individual sensitivity
  • The health conditions being treated
  • Your body weight
  • The CBD oil concentration/potency of the product you choose

To figure out your ideal dose, we recommend the ‘Start Low + Go Slow’ approach. Keeping a daily journal of your  daily dose and what you observe is a great way to monitor and adjust — until you figure out the perfect amount for yourself. Start with 1/2 of our recommended dose for one week, and be sure to journal your experiences.

If, after a week, you feel comfortable with taking CBD oil at a half dose, you can increase by 1/4. Are you noticing more benefit? Stay here for another week, and then move up to our full recommended dose. You can keep experimenting and recording your results for as long as you like. This journal work will assist you in figuring out which dose is helping you most.

Studies have also shown that taking more CBD oil does not always mean better results. Different endocannabinoid receptors are triggered with different doses. While one dose may make you clear-minded and focused, another dose may make you feel drowsy. And yet another dose may be more effective at easing or eliminating pain in the body. It’s why incremental experimentation is the best approach to working with CBD products. CBD treatment is different for everyone.

How Does CBD Work

All mammals possess a biological and neurological system called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is responsible for receiving and processing nutritional cannabinoids. The ECS is involved in a variety of important psychological and physiological processes, acting as a master regulator.

The ECS is essentially a signaling system, which responds to certain states of health and relays instructions from the brain to cell receptors throughout the body. Some of the bodily functions that are believed to be controlled in part by the ECS include digestion, mood, sleep cycles, circulation, immune function, and pain response, among many others.

Studies have shown that a variety of ailments can result when these systems are not balanced and functioning properly. Supplementing with CBD may help remedy these issues.

One category of active compounds produced in the cannabis plant are known as phytocannabinoids. The strains of cannabis from which pure CBD is extracted are known as phytocannabinoid-rich hemp, or PCR hemp. The hemp plant offers a class of cannabis strains that contains negligible levels of THC. And PCR hemp produces scores of unique phytocannabinoids, the most abundant of which is CBD. THC levels in the hemp plant are less than three parts in 1,000, or 0.3%, which is not enough to have any noticeable effect. This is why hemp plants yield safe and effective CBD products for those who choose to supplement.

Phytocannabinoids affect the endocannabinoid system in much the same way as the endocannabinoids produced naturally by the body. Supplementation with phytocannabinoids found in CBD oil — such as cannabidiol — can help to make up for endocannabinoid deficiencies. CBD products act as a master rebalancer.

Phytocannabinoids also provide health benefits outside of the ECS, acting as anti-inflammatories, antioxidants, and antibiotics. Anti-inflammatory compounds reduce inflammation — because inflammation is the most common source of pain. Antioxidants help to keep bodies clear of harmful toxins that can harm cells and increase the likelihood of abnormal cell growth. And antibiotics help kill germs and fight infections.

Cannabinoid receptors are located all over the human body, with a major concentration located in both the brain and nervous system. These concentrations are known as CB1 receptors. Those located inside inflammatory cells and in the immune system are known as CB2 receptors. Endocannabinoids produced by the body bind to endocannabinoid receptors — initiating processes that help us to eat, sleep, remember information, and heal following an injury.

Other cannabinoids also help balance the body’s endocannabinoid levels when there is either an over-production, or a shortage, of them. In a healthy human body, the ECS generates its own endocannabinoids. But in an unhealthy ECS, cannabinoids are unable to do their job. Research suggests that supplementation with pure CBD oil binds to receptors and compensates for shortage and over-production, allowing the body to work as intended and bringing all systems back into symbiosis and homeostasis.

What Is CBD Oil?

CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a safe, natural remedy that has been studied extensively for its ability to support various ailments and promote healthy living.

CBD oil comes from the Cannabis Sativa plant, which contains 100 other cannabinoids, including pure CBD. While THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol, is a highly psychoactive compound found in the Cannabis plant, CBD oil is non-intoxicating and is used solely for medicinal purposes and health benefits.

In the past decade especially, high quality Cannabidiol CBD products have become a sought-after way to treat pain, sleep issues, various ailments and a range of symptoms — largely due to the fact that it is natural and does not create the unwanted side effects that are associated with some pharmaceutical drugs or drug interactions.

To make oil, the CBD compound is first extracted from the cannabis plant and then diluted with a carrier oil, making consuming CBD oil easy and efficient for users.
